A Car-Themed Boy's Room
If it is about time for your teenage child to learn how to drive, a car-themed bedroom will surely be something your child would appreciate. Boys, most especially, are very much enthralled with cars. Having a car-themed room has its advantages. The attraction for cars is universal, it is easy to find accessories for this theme and the decorations will not lose their appeal unlike other things teenagers like.
Following are some steps in decorating your boy's room. First, determine what kind of car room he likes. If you are not sure, you can use a general approach. Paint the walls with neutral colours and use car accessories for different types of cars. If your son likes racing cars, paint the walls with celestial blue on the upper part and white on the bottom. The lower white part will be used to create a black and white chequered flag resembling the flag used in car racing. You can use adhesive tape to get straight lines when painting the black and white squares.
Another great decorating idea is to paint a racetrack on the ceiling. Using a sponge brush and grey paint, draw by free hand a track against a white-coloured ceiling. When the grey paint dries, trace white lines along the middle of the racetrack. One other design is decorating the room to look like a garage. Complete the look with images cars, wrenches and other equipment. Being able to drive a car is almost every teen's dream.
